MOUNT HOTHAM

MOUNT BAW BAW

Want to try skiing with the kids? Mount Baw Baw has an introduction package for families. It's from $499 per adult and children ski free. Stay at the self-contained Cascade apartments for three nights midweek and choose whether to cook in or make the short walk to the resort's restaurants. Also included are lift passes for two adults and two children, and resort entry and car parking for three days. Children must be under 15 years.

NEW ZEALAND

Queenstown Park Hotel, the ski town's (pictured below) new boutique hotel, has a four-night deal, with the fourth night free. The QPH Winter Getaway package includes a four-night stay in a Gondola suite, gourmet breakfast, pre-dinner drinks and canapes daily for two people. Normally $1760, this package is $1320.
